Radio That Matters news!
Radio That Matters, a project run by our partner AREA06 - Short Theatre in Rome, aims to create a space for research and experimentation for European structures and festivals in the field of sound creation in connection with live performance. The aim is to work with artists, radio stations and associations working in particular with visually impaired people to produce innovative artistic forms that will enable them to experience festival time and content for all.
The first meeting between the Parallèle team, members of ASLAA (Association Sports et Loisirs des Aveugles et Amblyopes) and Elena Biserna, a researcher and curator working alongside us on the project, took place on 20 December 2023. On the programme: a presentation of our respective structures and their challenges, the Radio That Matters project and the way in which we hope to work together.
We're going to be each other's companions for over a year, sharing artistic experiences and thoughts, and working together to design a special edition of the festival around sound creation and making artistic projects accessible to everyone. Our aims: to ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities and to explore new artistic formats.
The partnership begins with the next edition, with meetings with the artists, practical workshops and specific preparation for some of the festival's performances.
Radio *Duuu will soon be joining us on the adventure.
It's going to be a rich and joyful experience!
