Mining Stories is a puzzling travel with absolute finesse, entangled personal stories and social themes which unravel under our eyes.

A sensitive investigation on a recent catastrophe: the failure of a dam at the toxic waste site of the Brasilian mine State of Minas Gerais. As a result: a devastating mudslide, several buried villages, a contaminated river, thousands of helpless people and other hardship...

Initially from the region, Silke Huysmans went there to interview the locals, together with Hannes Dereere. Both of them have extended their vision of the event involving other more distant outlooks (an economist, a neurologist...). 

Silently, Silke Huysmans orchestrates these various viewpoints, as she would a concert, resonant chamber of what collective history is made up of.
